What does the Assetto Corsa integration do?

Unlike an ordinary AI chatbot, ai_licia receives live telemetry from Assetto Corsa, allowing your AI co-host to understand your driving session and respond to important events as they happen.

Drift highlights are telemetry-based estimates and are not intended to replace official competition scoring.

How to install the Assetto Corsa integration

Getting started only takes a few minutes!

Before beginning, make sure you have:

• The latest ai_licia Desktop App

• The original Assetto Corsa installed

• Content Manager and Custom Shaders Patch installed for the advanced Lua coaching component

Step 1 — Open the ai_licia Desktop App

Launch ai_licia and make sure your application is up to date.

Navigate to the Integrations section and select Assetto Corsa to open the setup window.

Step 2 — Install the AC coaching component

Inside the Assetto Corsa Setup window, verify that ai_licia has detected your Assetto Corsa installation folder correctly.

Click “Install AC coaching component”.

That's it!

ai_licia automatically installs the bundled Lua coaching app into your Assetto Corsa installation.

No manual file copying, separate Python installation, or additional executable is required.

Step 3 — Enable the integration in Content Manager

Open Content Manager and navigate to:

Settings → Custom Shaders Patch → Lua apps

Locate “ai_licia AC Coaching” and make sure the Lua app is enabled.

Restart Assetto Corsa after installing the coaching component to ensure it loads correctly.

Step 4 — Connect ai_licia

Return to the ai_licia Desktop App.

Open the Assetto Corsa integration and click “Connect ai_licia”.

Launch Assetto Corsa and load into a driving session.

Once telemetry is available and the connection is established, ai_licia can begin receiving information about your vehicle and session.

Step 5 — Verify everything is working

Before heading into a full race, we recommend running a quick test session.

Check that:

• The Assetto Corsa integration reports a successful connection.

• Live driving information is being received.

• Your vehicle and session information are recognized.

• Enabled events generate appropriate AI responses when triggered.

For advanced coaching, complete a clean lap and check whether the integration begins collecting the expected circuit and driving references.

You can also visit the Local data tab to review saved circuit learning information.

Important: Basic telemetry and circuit geometry learning can work without CSP. The bundled Lua coaching component is required for verified lap coaching.

Customize your AI racing co-host

One of the most exciting parts of the integration is that your racing assistant can have its own personality!

Using ai_licia's built-in customization features, you can configure your co-host voice, personality, and conversational behavior.

Want a professional race engineer delivering focused feedback? You can build one.

Prefer a sarcastic pit chief who celebrates your victories and gives you a hard time when you spin out? That's possible too!

For example, sim racing creator TheRealDSkidz uses a customized AI pit chief named RFR Roger, powered entirely by ai_licia.

Roger combines racing commentary, coaching feedback, and a healthy dose of humor to create an entertaining driving co-host.

The possibilities extend beyond racing performance. For streamers, a personalized AI co-host can make even ordinary practice sessions more engaging for viewers.

Circuit learning and local data

The Assetto Corsa integration includes persistent local circuit learning.

Learned circuit geometry and personal driving references can be stored on your computer, allowing the system to retain supported learning information between sessions.

The Local data tab allows you to review saved circuits, storage usage, and learning activity.

Raw high-frequency telemetry remains local rather than being sent directly to ai_licia.

This helps support personalized driving analysis while keeping detailed telemetry processing on your machine.

Quick troubleshooting

Integration shows disconnected

• Make sure Assetto Corsa is running and you've loaded into a driving session.

• Check that ai_licia is connected.

• Disconnect and reconnect the integration if necessary.

Coaching component isn't working

• Verify that Custom Shaders Patch is installed.

• Check that “ai_licia AC Coaching” is enabled under Content Manager's CSP Lua apps.

• Restart Assetto Corsa after installing the component.

• Confirm that the correct Assetto Corsa installation folder was selected.

No AI reactions during gameplay

• Open the Events tab and verify the desired reactions are enabled.

• Check your selected assistant mode.

• Remember that some events require specific driving conditions or completed laps before they can trigger.

Still having problems?

The Assetto Corsa Setup window includes a Copy AC diagnostics button to help troubleshoot integration issues.

The Assetto Corsa integration is currently identified as a beta, so occasional edge cases may still occur.
